MG's history began 100 years ago, and the now Chinese brand is celebrating this birthday at the Geneva Motor Show (-3.3.) with the Cyberster roadster and the MG 3 Hybrid Plus small car. The open-top two-seater continues the brand's sporty tradition and is being launched on the market in two electrically powered versions.
The all-wheel drive version is powered by two engines with a combined output of 397 kWQ (540 hp), which accelerate the Roadster from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds. The slightly weaker version with rear-wheel drive and 250 kW (340 hp) takes two seconds longer to reach 100 km/h.
In addition to the open-top sports car, MG is presenting the MG 3 Hybrid plus for the first time in Geneva, in which the combination of a 1.5-liter petrol engine with 102 hp (75 kW) and a 100 kW electric motor (136 hp) takes over propulsion. The developers chose a three-speed automatic gearbox for the power transmission. MG promises a fuel consumption of 4.4 liters per 100 kilometers. Measuring 4.11 meters, the MG 3 Hybrid Plus will arrive at dealerships in the second quarter. The price list will probably start at around 20,000 euros. (aum)
