Honda and GM start fuel cell production

Honda and General Motors have started series production of fuel cell systems for hydrogen vehicles in the USA. As part of the Fuel Cell System Manufacturing (FCSM) joint venture, the two companies operate an approximately 6,500 square meter facility in the state of Michigan and have been working together for over ten years on the further development of the technology. This also involves reducing production costs and the use of precious metals. The new fuel cell system is expected to be around two thirds cheaper than in the Honda Clarity launched in 2019. (aum)
