Japanese chemical company builds separator plant
Asahi Kasei today announced the construction of a plant in Ontario, Canada for the manufacture and coating of wet process separators for lithium-ion batteries. The Japanese chemical manufacturer has signed a framework agreement with Honda Motor for this plant. The car manufacturer wants battery electric cars and plug-in hybrids to account for 100 percent of its sales by 2040. (aum)
