BMW makes less profit

BMW increased vehicle sales slightly in the first quarter and maintained the previous year's turnover, but profits fell by a quarter. At around 595,000 cars, deliveries in the first three months increased by just over one percent compared to the previous year. Turnover amounted to 36.6 billion euros, slightly less than in the first quarter of 2023 (minus 0.6 percent). The Group result amounted to 4.05 billion euros. Reasons for this include the upcoming model change for the important 5-series and the lower profit margin for electric cars, which accounted for around 14% of all vehicles sold. (aum)
