Ahead of the world premiere of the new generations of the Kodiaq and Superb, Skoda has already let us take a look at the interiors of the successful models. The gear selector lever for the direct shift gearbox (DSG), which is now mounted on the steering column, is particularly striking. The innovation creates more free space at the driver's seat and a significantly roomier center console for storage.
The driver also has a digital cockpit, head-up display and a free-standing central infotainment display that, with a diagonal of 13 inches, is larger than ever before. Also new are the "Smart Dials" placed below it, customizable rotary pushbuttons with digital display. They provide intuitive access to various functions such as interior temperature, seat heating and seat ventilation or infotainment volume, driving modes and map display zoom, while their displays allow a quick and complete overview.
In the Kodiaq and Superb, there is now a Phone Box for fast inductive charging of suitable smartphones with up to 15 W - in the SUV, this even works with two devices simultaneously - including an active cooling function. In addition, there are up to four USB-C ports with 45 W as well as a 15 W USB-C port in the rearview mirror. Ergonomic seats with pneumatic massage function are available for both models. As a step toward greater sustainability, Skoda is using seat upholstery made from 100 percent recycled polyester in the new Kodiaq and Superb. (aum)
