Traton makes a profit of four billion euros

Traton, the truck group of the Volkswagen Group, increased its turnover last year by 16 percent to 46.7 billion euros. Profits almost doubled to four billion euros. MAN alone increased its vehicle sales by 37 percent to 116,000 trucks, vans and buses. At Scania, the increase amounted to 14 percent with 96,700 units, and the US brand Navistar grew by nine percent to just under 90,000 vehicles.

By contrast, sales at Volkswagen Truck & Bus in South America fell by almost a third to 37,200 trucks and buses as a result of new emissions regulations. The Board of Management and Supervisory Board will propose a dividend of €1.50 to the Annual General Meeting for the past financial year 2023. This is 80 cents more than in 2022 and corresponds to a total payout of 750 million euros. (aum)
