DS hybridizes the 3 Series and the 4 Series

DS Automobiles is launching new hybrid versions of its 3 and 4 models, with a 21 kW (28 hp) electric motor with 55 Newton meters of torque supporting the 136 hp (100 kW) and 230 Nm 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine. With their 0.9 kWh battery, the DS 3 Hybrid and DS 4 Hybrid can also be driven purely electrically for stretches at lower speeds and are thus ideally up to 40 percent more economical on the road. The WLTP standard consumption is reduced by up to 20 percent for the DS 3 and 16 percent for the DS 4 and is around five liters per 100 kilometers. The power is transmitted via a new dual-clutch gearbox.

The energy flow is shown on the digital instrument display together with the battery charge level and its operating status. The on-board computer also provides information on the percentage of the distance covered using only electric power. When driving electrically, the speed is shown in blue on the display. The DS 3 Hybrid and DS 4 Hybrid accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h 1.2 seconds faster than the comparable 130 Puretech combustion engines.

The two models also mark the start of the new differentiation of the equipment versions. In future, there will be the "Pallas" and "Étoile" versions. This streamlining is intended to make the choice easier for customers. Orders will be possible shortly. (aum)
