Mahle: Billion-euro orders for thermal management modules

Mahle has secured two major orders for thermal management modules in the field of e-mobility. One of the nominations comes from an "established, globally positioned vehicle manufacturer", according to the Swabian technology group. This is the largest single order in the company's history. The second order comes from an "up-and-coming, innovative car manufacturer from Asia". The total order volume of both projects amounts to just under 1.5 billion euros.

Mahles thermal management modules combine components that were previously installed separately to control the temperature of the battery, vehicle interior, drivetrain and power electronics. The modules work more efficiently than their individual parts and are designed to increase the range of an electric car by up to 20 percent and significantly increase the charging speed. The modular approach also enables smaller installation spaces and reduced assembly costs. Both thermal management modules were developed by an international team at the Mahle Tech Center Stuttgart and in regional development units. (aum)
