Mazda steps on the gas again with the Wankel

In 2012, after eleven generations, Mazda built its last car with a rotary engine, the RX-8. Since last year, the Wankel has been experiencing a renaissance as a range-extending generator in the MX-30 electric car. But that is not the end of the story. Today, Mazda has reinstated the "rotary piston engine development group" in drive development. It is to work on the further development of the alternative engine concept. In addition to its use as a generator in hybrid drives, the 36 engineers are also working on the use of CO2-neutral fuels, among other things. (aum)
