Iveco separates from Magirus

Iveco is parting ways with Magirus. The german manufacturer of fire-fighting vehicles and fire protection technology goes to the Munich-based investment company Mutares, which also owns half of Peugeot Motocycles, among others. Magirus employs over 1300 people in Germany, Italy, France and Austria. Last year, the company generated around two percent of Iveco's turnover, but made a loss of around 35 million euros. Iveco sees better market opportunities for Magirus as a result of the sale. The transaction is expected to be completed by the beginning of next year at the latest. (aum)
