Major update for the electric car from Stuttgart

Shorter charging times, more range and comfort: four years after its market launch, Porsche is giving its first purely electric vehicle a comprehensive facelift. In addition, the new Taycan Turbo GT is the most powerful production Porsche to date.

Along with the facelift, Porsche has reorganized the hierarchy for the Taycan. The 580 kW (789 PS) Taycan Turbo GT, which has a massive torque of 1340 Newton meters, now ranks above the previous top model, the Taycan Turbo S. The Taycan Turbo GT sprints to 100 km/h in just 2.3 seconds, reaches the 200 km/h mark in just 6.6 seconds and is capable of speeds of up to 290 km/h. The Turbo GT is also optionally available with the Weissach package. Thanks to extensive lightweight construction measures, the latter is 22 kilograms lighter and accelerates to 100 km/h a tenth faster at 2.2 seconds, with a top speed of 305 km/h.

The power output for the entry-level model is still 300 kW (408 hp). However, the power is now available permanently and not just as a short-term boost as in the old model. This means that the basic Taycan accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and is 0.6 seconds faster than before. (aum)
