Porsche Taycan can now do everything even better

Porsche has updated the Taycan. The new versions have more power, a longer range, accelerate faster and charge in less time. The Turbo models also have a more distinctive design than before. The modifications, which will be available from spring, affect all three body variants.

With the new Push-to-Pass function of the Sport Chrono Package, additional power of up to 70 kW (95 hp) can be called up for ten seconds at the touch of a button, depending on the model. The sportier acceleration values are the result of a generally higher system output. The basic Taycan delivers 60 kW (81 PS) more than before. In the Taycan Turbo S, the increase is even 140 kW (190 PS) when Launch Control is used. This increases the system output of the top model to 700 kW (952 PS). As sports saloons, the Taycan and Taycan Turbo S reach the 100 km/h mark from a standstill in 4.8 and 2.4 seconds respectively. This makes them 0.6 and 0.4 seconds faster than their predecessors.

Depending on the body variant and engine, the WLTP range increases to up to 678 kilometers, an increase of 175 kilometers or 35 percent. The Performance Battery Plus now has a gross energy content of 105 kWh instead of 93 kWh. DC charging stations with 800 volts will be able to charge with up to 320 kW in future. That is 50 kW more than before. At the same time, the fast-charging window of the new Performance battery has been significantly extended. This means that charging capacities of over 300 kW can be achieved for up to five minutes. Depending on the individual driving profile, the required charging time of ten to 80 percent SoC (State of Charge) can be reduced by up to half compared to the previous model. The recuperation performance has also been significantly increased.

All updated Taycans are equipped with adaptive air suspension as standard. The new "Active Ride" suspension can be ordered as an option for the all-wheel drive versions. Although the standard equipment is even more extensive than before, the models weigh up to 15 kilograms less. The Porsche lettering in the light strip at the rear is three-dimensionally shaped and has a glass look. For the first time, it is available on request in an illuminated version with welcome and farewell animations.

The instrument cluster, central display and optional front passenger screen have an optimized user interface with additional functions. The mode switch on the steering wheel is now standard. The driver assistance systems can be controlled even more intuitively with the new control lever on the left behind the steering wheel. Apple Carplay is now more deeply integrated into the vehicle displays and functions. The new In-Car Video function enables video streaming on the central and front passenger display. (aum)
